Lyra+ Host and Seller Payout Policy
Effective date: October 6, 2026 Last updated: October 6, 2026
This policy explains how Hosts and designated sellers get paid for ticket sales on Lyra+, and when payouts can be delayed, held, or reversed. It is part of the Lyra+ Terms of Service and the Host Terms. Designated sellers are also bound by the Designated Seller Commission Agreement they accept for each Event.
1. Payout setup with Stripe
Lyra pays Hosts and sellers through Stripe Connect. To receive money, you must create or connect a Stripe account from Lyra and complete Stripe's onboarding. Stripe may ask for your:
- legal name, date of birth, address, and phone number;
- identity documents or the last four digits of your Social Security number;
- business details, if you sell as a business; and
- bank account or debit card for payouts.
Stripe performs the identity, sanctions, and risk checks that financial regulations require. Your Stripe account is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Free Events do not require payout setup.
One Stripe account can receive both your hosting earnings and your seller commissions. Your Stripe balance and bank payouts are account-wide, so they may combine activity from several Events and roles.
2. When you get paid
Hosts. When a buyer pays for a ticket, online or with Tap to Pay at the door, Stripe sends your share of the sale (the base ticket price minus any Host fee shown in Backstage) to your Stripe account. Lyra's fees, the buyer's fees, and taxes collected by Lyra are not part of your share.
Designated sellers. Lyra sends your commission to your Stripe account as payments settle. Your commission comes out of the Host's share and is calculated as described in your Designated Seller Commission Agreement.
From Stripe to your bank. Stripe pays out your available balance to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule. A first payout usually takes 7 to 14 days after your first successful payment while Stripe completes its checks. After that, funds usually reach your bank within a few business days. You can see your balance and payout status from Backstage or in your Stripe Express dashboard.
3. Holds and delays
Lyra or Stripe may delay, hold, or limit payouts when reasonably necessary, including when:
- your Stripe account has incomplete verification or is restricted;
- an Event shows signs of fraud, unusually high refunds or disputes, or a risk of not taking place;
- an Event is canceled, postponed, or materially changed and refunds are pending;
- we need to investigate a report or a breach of the Terms; or
- the law, a court order, or a government request requires it.
We will tell you why your payout is held when we are allowed to, and what you can do to resolve it. A hold does not forfeit money you have earned. It delays the payout until the reason for the hold is resolved.
4. Refunds and reversals
When an order is refunded under the Refund Policy, whether the Host approved it, the Event was canceled, or the law required it:
- Hosts: your share of the refunded order is reversed from your Stripe account.
- Designated sellers: the commission on the refunded tickets is reversed, including a proportional amount for partial refunds. You are not charged extra processing or dispute fees.
If your Stripe balance cannot cover a reversal, the shortfall becomes a negative balance. Lyra may recover it from your future payouts, and Stripe may debit the bank account linked to your Stripe account, as the Stripe Terms allow. A seller's unpaid reversal is recovered only from that seller's future seller earnings in the same currency.
5. Chargebacks and disputes
If a buyer disputes a charge with their bank:
- Lyra manages the dispute with Stripe and may ask you for evidence, such as check-in records, communications, or proof the Event took place. Please respond promptly.
- While the dispute is open, your share of the disputed order (and any seller commission on it) may be reversed or held.
- If the dispute is resolved in Lyra's favor, recovered funds are restored to you. Only amounts actually recovered are restored.
- Hosts are responsible for losses on disputes caused by their Event, such as an Event that did not happen as described. Lyra may pass through the dispute fee charged by the payment network in those cases.
6. Taxes
You are responsible for reporting your earnings and paying your taxes. Where the law requires it, Lyra or Stripe will collect your taxpayer information and issue information returns, such as IRS Form 1099-K. Lyra may withhold amounts when the law requires it. Lyra does not provide tax advice. Seller commission reports are separate from a Host's gross ticket sales.
7. Currency
Ticket prices and payouts are in U.S. dollars unless an Event states otherwise. If your bank account uses a different currency, Stripe or your bank may convert the funds and charge conversion fees.
8. Your responsibilities
- Keep your Stripe account information, bank details, and contact information accurate.
- Do not sell tickets to your own Events to move money, or create fake sales, refunds, or commissions.
- Tell us right away if you suspect someone accessed your Lyra or Stripe account without authorization.
9. Closing your account
If you stop hosting or selling, or close your Lyra account, Lyra may keep your payouts on hold until your pending Events take place, refund and dispute windows close, and amounts you owe are settled. Lyra keeps transaction, payout, and tax records for as long as described in the Privacy Policy, generally up to seven years.
10. Contact
Questions about payouts: support@lyraplus.com. Include your Event name and the email on your Lyra account. For questions about Stripe verification or bank transfers, you can also contact Stripe through your Express dashboard.
We may update this policy. We will give Hosts and sellers reasonable notice of material changes, and changes do not apply retroactively to completed payouts.
